The Churchill High School project was the first phase of a major campus upgrade. The project consisted of the addition of a new two-story, 46,200 SF Liberal Arts building, major renovation of the Auditorium, and connecting the two (2) buildings is a central courtyard plaza of concrete and brick pavers. The new Liberal Arts building expands and provides enhanced features for existing school programs. The library portion of the building provides a larger facility for study and research, as wall as facilities for 50 computer stations with Internet access. The new Art classrooms were constructed to provide a creative environment, share a kiln and have access to an exterior fenced courtyard. The indoor dance studio includes a wood floor, mirrored walls and an open ceiling to a roof height of 27 feet. The 11,300 SF auditorium was renovated to enable the more complex theatre productions and a higher level of stage production. Seating was refurbished, the roof over the stage was raised to accommodate stage equipment, an orchestra pit was installed, acoustical treatments were added and a new sound and lighting system was installed.

This project consisted of the addition of a new two-story, 60,000 SF 9th Grade Center, new Band Hall building, commons areas and major renovation of the existing 100,000 SF high school facilities. It was successfully constructed for the Seguin Independent School District both on-time and within budget, under the Construction Manager-at-Risk delivery method.

The 9th Grade Center expands and provides enhanced features for existing school programs, including 25 additional classrooms. The Band Hall contains a concert room, practice room, instrument storage facility, office and instructional space. The upgrades in the existing building included renovation of the administration area, library, cafeteria, auditorium and Journalism building. We also replaced all of the student lockers and upgraded the fire alarm and public address system throughout the campus.

The A&M Consolidated High School project consisted of the addition of a new two-story, 100,000 SF Academic Building, two (2) gymnasiums, and renovation to 170,000 SF of classroom space and auditorium. The new construction consisted of 30 classrooms and 14 laboratories, and two (2) gymnasiums. The renovation work included 69 classrooms, the band hall, and major renovations to the performing arts theater and auditorium. This project was successfully constructed for the College Station Independent School District both on-budget and on-schedule, under the Construction Manager at Risk delivery method. Vestal-Loftis-Kalista was the Project Architect. A major design element of this project was to create a new main entrance and exterior façade for the building by wrapping the existing facility on both traffic side faces, with the new Classroom Building. Building methods utilized for construction included a cast-in-place concrete structure upon a structural concrete drilled pier foundation, with CMU walls and brick veneer. The roof structure consisted of modified bitumen and standing seam metal roof systems.

The Pearsall High School/Flores-Westside Elementary School project was the first public school district project in the State of Texas to be constructed under the Construction Manager-at-Risk delivery method. Started in June of 1996, this project was successfully completed on-time and under-budget, in August of 1997. The project consisted of the addition and renovation of a single story, 149,000 SF high school and a 25,300 SF elementary school addition.

Building methods utilized for construction included a cast-in-place concrete structure upon a structural concrete drilled pier foundation, with CMU walls and brick veneer. The roof structure consists of a hip roof with reflecting standing seam metal roof panels. This building includes a library, dance studio, three (3) Art classrooms, Speech and Debate facilities, and eleven (11) classrooms on the second floor.

The building will have two uses; one as a Band Facility and the other houses the student athletic area. Building methods utilized for construction include a structural steel frame with CMU based brick veneer. The roof structure in the Band Hall was constructed of built-up roof. The Band Hall walls are acoustical wall panel with sound attenuation. The Hall houses 100 students. The Locker Room roof is a composition insulated roof and the facility includes showers, a training room with locker and is used for the Varsity athletics. The locker room has a student capacity of 75.

This Hays Consolidated Independent School District facility is a district-wide auditorium that seats nearly 1000 and includes an orchestra pit, multipurpose flex rooms, and a large entry foyer that can serve formal dinners and others events. This project was constructed through a public/private partnership, with land donated by residential housing development and the construction provided by the school district.

This facility has a drilled pier and structural slab foundation, with structural steel and structural masonry frame, a masonry envelope and glass envelope, and built-up and metal roofing systems. This project is being constructed under the competitive sealed proposal delivery method and
