Park Village Elementary School |
60,000 SF, Elementary School
Owner: Judson ISD
Architect: Garza/Bomberger & Associates
Method of Delivery: Design/Build
Start/Completion: 10/98 - 08/99
Park Village Elementary School is a great example
of what can be accomplished by a spirit of cooperation and teamwork.
In July 1998, the existing Park Village Elementary School
became a casualty of arson. The Judson Independent School District
moved swiftly and obtained permission from the State of Texas
for an emergency proclamation allowing them to negotiate to
build the new school under a design/build delivery method. In
early September 1998, Bartlett Cocke General Contractors began
work on a task to complete the new 60,000 SF school for the
1999 school year. This project was designed, bid and constructed
in nearly ten (10) months. Classes were allowed to start on
time in August 1999.
This campus consists of a 60,000 SF concrete and steel
structure with a standing seam metal roof. Designed for 850
students, the elementary school has 30 classrooms, two
(2) computer labs and a covered walkway connecting the new
school to the existing gymnasium. |
